Notes:
Originally from Volksdorf. He moved to Niedernwöhren upon marriage and apparently inherited the farm at Niedernwöhren Nr. 2 from his father-in-law Heinrich Wilherm. He is listed in the 1729 "Verzeichniß derer an das Herrschaftliche Vorwerk Galhoff gehörigen Dienstpflichtigen" (K 1 D 242) as being required to provide 2 days of work with a team of horses, and one day without, each week to the manorial farm in Gallhof. When his son Johann Ernst Knake married in 1736, Johann transferred the farm in Niedernwöhren to his son, but initially retained the household. One Morgen of the farm was placed at the disposal of his other son until the latter would marry. Johann apparently served as a baptismal sponsor to his grandson Hans Hermann Knake in 1748.
