Notes:
Peter served as baptismal sponsor for Johann Henrich Krummel on 23 Nov 1656, where he is explicitly listed as the son of Adolph Khan. He also served as baptismal sponsor for his niece Anna Catharina Kan on Palm Sunday 1661 in Netze. Peter accompanied his brother Andreas to the latter’s inquisition resulting from their father’s denunciation of Andreas after the father’s imprisonment and confession of witchcraft.

Peter’s funeral sermon texts were Gen. 47:9 ”Jakob sprach: Die Zeit meiner Wallfahrt ist hundertdreißig Jahre; wenig und böse ist die Zeit meines Lebens und langt nicht an die Zeit meiner Väter in ihrer Wallfahrt.” (And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my sojourning are 130 years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojourning.”); and Job 10, which starts “Meine Seele verdrießt mein Leben; ich will meiner Klage bei mir ihren Lauf lassen und reden in der Betrübnis meiner Seele.” (I loathe my life; I will give free utterance to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.) and ends ”Ist denn mein Leben nicht kurz? So höre er auf und lasse ab von mir, daß ich ein wenig erquickt werde, ehe ich denn hingehe und komme nicht wieder, ins Land der Finsternis und des Dunkels, ins Land da es stockfinster ist und da keine Ordnung ist, und wenn's hell wird, so ist es wie Finsternis.” (Are not my days few? Then cease, and leave me alone, that I may find a little cheer before I go—and I shall not return— to the land of darkness and deep shadow, the land of gloom like thick darkness, like deep shadow without any order, where light is as thick darkness.”
