Or Valentin/Valentinus/Velden/Veltin. Väldin was the head of one of only 17 households that survived the plague year 1635 in Crumstadt. He is listed in the muster rolls of the Zentmannschaft Erfelden in Crumstadt in 1639, still single, and again, no longer single, in 1659. His funeral sermon text was Psalm 39:6, “Sie gehen daher wie ein Schemen und machen sich viel vergebliche Unruhe; sie sammeln, und wissen nicht, wer es einnehmen wird.” (Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!)
