Notes:
“Die alte Bächin”. She was arrested for witchcraft and brought to the Burg Neuhaus for interrogation. On 19 Jun 1618, her confession to witchcraft, introduced by a Dr. Wagner to the council for discussion, and it was decided that because her statements were inconsistent, she should be tortured more severely and re-interrogated. She was burned at the stake later that year.

She may be depicted along with other members of her extended family on an epitaph commissioned 1610 and since about 1972 mounted in the Leichenhalle in Markelsheim. On this epitaph, she is probably the woman in the main panel on the extreme right.
