Notes:
Her funeral texts were Eccl. 12:7 “Denn der Staub muß wieder zu der Erde kommen, wie er gewesen ist, und der Geist wieder zu Gott, der ihn gegeben hat.” (and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.), Gen. 30:6 “Da sprach Rahel: Gott hat meine Sache gerichtet und meine Stimme erhört und mir einen Sohn gegeben.” (Then Rachel said, “God has judged me, and has also heard my voice and given me a son.”), and 2 Peter 1:14 “denn ich weiß, daß ich meine Hütte bald ablegen muß, wie mir denn auch unser HERR Jesus Christus eröffnet hat.” (since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.)

It is possible that Magdalena was the bride in one of the three marriages documented incompletely in Netze in 1662: “Anno 1662 ist deß Grebens Tochter Hochzeit gewesen.”, “[1662] d. 11t. Novembr. hatt Striebelß Tochter Hochzeit gehalten.”, or “[1662] d. 18t. Novembr. hatt Stoffel Luckert Tochter Hochzeit gehalten.” Of the three (which it would’t have to be), “deß Grebens Tochter” has the advantage that the first known child of Johann Peter Kann and Magdalena was baptized Elisabeth, and the child’s godmother was the sister of the mother. This argues that Magdalena’s sister was named Elisabeth, and she was also apparently godmother of a child baptised on 20 Dec 1663: “Elisabeth deß Greben Tochter”. If this is the case, then Magdalena and her sister Elisabeth were both the daughters of the Grebe (village mayor). The Grebe from at least 1651 to 1663 was Christ[oph] Knoche/Koch and from at least 1666 to 1670 was Martin Welcker. Going against this possibility, however, is the catalog entry for the punishment rendered in 1661 to the Scheuernmeier Johannes N. in Waldeck and the Grebe in Netze because of the misdeeds of youthful guests celebrating the betrothal of their children; this argues that a daughter of the Grebe in Netze may have married a son of Johannes N. of Waldeck in 1661 or 1662. This could have been a sister to Magdalena and Elisabeth, but the betrothal in 1661 could correspond to the known marriage in Netze in 1662, which would eliminate this marriage from consideration for Magdalena to Johann Peter Kann.
